It was the sky from where we discovered electricity. Now during the time of need it is the same sky that provides us the answer. Our world is facing a shortage of electricity. Many places in the world still do not have proper facilities for supply of electricity. Our bills just keep rising no matter what we do. You have those odd days when there is no electricity at all.

That's when you look up and find that the answer was always above. Solar energy is the ultimate source of energy. It is pure and pollution free. It does not harm the environment in anyway. And the best part is that it's available in abundance. But the question was, how do we convert the solar energy into electricity? Thanks to science we are nowadays able to convert solar energy into electricity. But then there was another problem. How we store this energy? This is where the solar power system plays a major role. They not only enhance the output of electricity but also help store the electricity and regulate it throughout the building or for whichever purpose it is being used for.

There are different types of solar power systems. Few are standalone systems which operate only few types of equipment like lights etc. they are generally used in cabins and small places. There are some which are known as hybrid solar power systems which combine an inverter as well as large batteries that help run air conditions, heaters, etc.

Also some of the electric connections from the solar panels are connected to the utility grids which assure a continuous supply of electricity to the residential areas. Besides household uses, the solar power systems are widely used in industries. In the agricultural industry many machinery are made to work on these solar power systems. They have wide application in the fields of computers etc. where continuous and large supply of electricity is required. Presently Microsoft and Google are exploiting this form of energy and are implementing them. Many other pilot projects have been started all around the world to make use of solar power systems which give a powerful amount of electricity in the areas where there is continuous supply of solar energy. Soon the solar power systems are becoming famous all around the world. Though the initial costs are very high, they prove to be very efficient and also last long. Their costs are covered easily once they are operational. The government of USA has got out many plans in different states for the use of solar power systems. It is proving to be a pollution free, pure and cheap alternative source of energy, since the conventional sources are getting depleted.

It is time that we shift from the conventional sources of energy to solar energy by the use of solar power systems to not only protect the environment and lead a safe life but also to help lower costs of electricity and hence save more money as well as energy.
